1. Wave start times are posted under the schedule tab. They will also be sent out on Saturday in the last emailer.
2. We are looking for a few volunteer parents to help. Particulary in transition. Let me know if you can help out.
3. Swim caps are provided.
4. We will be awarding our overall point winners a special prize at this event.
5. You can ride any type of bike.
A special note for parents:
Please talk with your children about the integrity of a race. We want to encourage our kids to be honest no matter if they do not win. It's about having fun. We have had children not do the required number of swim laps and cut the course of the bike.
Until tomorrow!

We can always use volunteers on the bike and run course. Please email greg@svendurance.com .
Did you know?
1. This event we are going back to slap bracelets on the bike and run. What that means is on the bike we will have a STOP zone to get a bracelet. For example if you kid is a Senior and does 6 laps on the bike (review the map), they will receive 5 bracelets. Everyone except kids with clipless shoes needs to stop to receive this. NOT slow down, actually stop. Please review this ahead of time with your child, we do not want any parents yelling at volunteers. This is supposed to be for fun.
2. On the run we will remove their bracelets. For example a senior would have 3 bracelets removed and finish with two.
3. The bike course has a small hill in it, if your child is very young you may want to be near there to give them a hand. It is not much more that 10-15 ft.
4. The run course is much tougher with two hills. One they run once and one they run multiple times if they have additional laps. This is why the run course is shorter, so it's easier for them. It will be fun!
5. We will have a USAT list of whom has paid from the previous two races. Otherwise bring your card or purchase a license at the event.
Thanks, until tomorrow!

As most of you know we like to send out a series of Did you know emails the week leading up to the kids events. This benefits experienced parents and kids and beginners.

1. This event will be held at the beautiful College of San Mateo Aquatic Center.
2. Transition opens at 6:30 am for setup and will be open until 8:15 am.
3. We have two volunteers in the transition area to help with setup if you have any questions.
4. We do allow 1 parent in transition, but you must stay clear of the other kids.
5. On the bike and run course we will be using slap bracelets for this event. Your kids MUST stop and get one for each lap. It's fair because each kids stops. Parents are not to yell at the volunteers in this area.
6. We do not have a bike technician at this event, but we will have extra supplies, tools, and a pump there for you. If you need anything see the tent near the transition area.
Thanks!

Did you know will pick up tomorrow!
As many of you parents know with San Jose State having construction this year we have struggled with locations. Seems like everyone has a swim meet going on! We have booked a fantastic facility for the next event. The Athletic Club at College of San Mateo. Yes I know it's farther then you are used to (if your in the South Bay). I urge you to give it a chance.
The facility has brand 2 brand new pools and the grounds are all new. This will be a fun event, the run has a good hill in it the kids run once. It will be challenging.
As you know these events benefit the Jenny's Light Foundation for postpartum depression. So please do your best to make the event and get your friends to come out. Maybe we can appeal to some people in the North Bay!
Maps are flyers are now up, please review. Email me with any questions. Once again, your time will be well worth it.
Register here: SVETiming or Triathlonkidz
If you have attended our events any time this year use the promo code of '00015' for a 15% discount.

I wanted to thank all the parents that were patient with our last minute course changes. We are aware it was not the best course.
I do however need to mention something. The volunteers have a very hard job keeping track of the kids and encouraging them. We really need parents to let them do their job. We had so many parents talking to the lap counters that they feel that had a hard time doing their job. We do understand you have questions, but they need to wait until the event is over or it just ruins the experience for the person we missed. Please consider this at the next event. The bottom line is these are for fun.
Thanks again, see you at the next one!
